The EPLM team was created in 1992 following an initiative of M.H. Balesdent and T. Rouxel. The EPLM team first dissected components of the Leptosphaeria species complex causing stem canker of oilseed rape, identified genetic control of resistance/avirulence and investigated population structure, so that to build recommendations for durable management strategies of resistant plant genotypes. We combine expertise in plant pathology, fungal genetics, molecular biology, genomics, epigenomics, along with complementary collaborations (genetics, plant genetics and breeding, biochemistry) in order to decipher the molecular dialogue between the partners of the interaction, its regulation, its molecular evolution under resistance gene selection pressure and to investigate the microbiota associated to L. maculans during its interaction with oilseed rape.
